Ponce City Market is the largest adaptive re-use project in Atlanta’s history with approximately 2.1 million gross square feet under roof. The historical building needed new cabling and access control throughout the facility. They hired NTI to handle the massive undertaking.
Challenge
The historic Sears & Roebuck building first opened for business in 1926. In 2010, Jamestown Development bought the building with the intentions of making it a historic mixed use space. The old building was going to need a major technology upgrade if it was going to support the bustling facility.

Solution
NTI was hired as a technology consultant for the project, responsible for designing the ITS cabling infrastructure, access control, and CCTV throughout the facility. Within the space, there were multiple GCs, multiple architects, and a lot of unique areas each with specific technology needs. This made coordination critical to the success of the project. Project Managers had to meet with all stakeholders to develop a robust and effective technology solution.

Result
NTI began working on the technology design in 2012 and finished with the construction administrations in 2016, a year after Ponce City Market opened for business. The entire facility now has an updated and secure infrastructure that’s capable of handling its 300+ tenant’s demands. The 16 acre lot now serves Atlanta as both an iconic landmark and a fun destination.
